Pregnant and curious about Japanese Head Spa? Learn when it may be suitable and discover pregnancy massage in Dublin.
At IULA BAIA SPA, the main consideration is the position needed for the treatment. Our Japanese Head Spa lasts 75 minutes, and you lie on your back for most of that time. As your pregnancy progresses, staying in this position may become uncomfortable. It can also make some people feel dizzy, particularly as the bump grows. See more at HSE
Why can’t I change position during the Head Spa?
During the treatment, we wash and rinse your hair while your head rests at the basin. Once the treatment begins, it is difficult to turn onto your side without interrupting it. The Head Spa bed also cannot be changed into a chair.
We want your visit to feel relaxing from beginning to end. That is why we ask you to tell us how many weeks pregnant you are before booking.
Can I book in early pregnancy?
At IULA BAIA SPA, we do not book Japanese Head Spa treatments during the first three months of pregnancy. After that, we consider requests individually during early pregnancy, when the lying position may still feel comfortable. As your bump grows, we may recommend another treatment instead.
This is our booking policy, based on how our 75-minute treatment is carried out. Every pregnancy is different. If you are unsure whether lying on your back for a treatment is suitable for you, please speak with your midwife or doctor before booking.
A comfortable way to relax during pregnancy
If a Japanese Head Spa is not the right fit for you at this stage, you can still take time to relax. Our Pregnancy Massage is carried out while you lie on your side, helping you feel supported and comfortable throughout the treatment.
We’re always happy to help you choose. Send us a message and tell us how many weeks pregnant you are and how you’re feeling. We’ll help you find the option that feels right for you.
